Valve just imported 50 tons of game consoles in two days

Valve imported approximately 50 tons of game consoles into the United States during a two-day period in early May, according to import records obtained by The Verge. While Valve has not officially announced what these devices are, evidence suggests they may be the long-awaited Steam Machine or Steam Frame rather than additional Steam Deck inventory.

This import activity builds on previous observations from Valve hardware analyst Brad Lynch, who noted significant shipment activity in the preceding week. The devices are classified as “Game Consoles” for customs purposes, the same designation used for the Steam Deck handheld, though the volume and scale suggest a more substantial product launch.

The timing and quantity of this import represent one of the strongest indicators yet of Valve’s plans for a dedicated home console. Such large-scale importation typically precedes major hardware announcements or releases, though Valve has not provided an official timeline.
