Dropout’s first board game has already hit $1 million on Kickstarter
Dropout, the streaming service known for its comedy content, has successfully launched a Kickstarter campaign for an at-home board game adaptation of its flagship show Game Changer. The campaign exceeded expectations dramatically, raising over $1 million in pledges within days of launch—far surpassing its initial $40,000 funding goal.
The board game brings the improvisational chaos and humor of the live show to tabletop play, featuring adaptations of three games that have been featured on the series: Bingo, Name a Number, and Sam Says. The campaign was announced last month and marks Dropout’s expansion into physical media alongside its existing digital streaming presence.
Dimension 20 Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan and Dropout CEO Sam Reich highlighted the appeal of the adaptation, with Mulligan humorously noting that the board game version benefits from being able to explain the rules upfront—a contrast to the often chaotic rule revelations that occur during the televised show.
The overwhelming support from backers demonstrates strong interest in bringing Dropout’s entertainment format to a new medium, and the massive funding overperformance suggests the audience for Game Changer extends well beyond the streaming platform.
