Video: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch 2, Xbox Series S, PS5)

Square Enix is bringing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to the Nintendo Switch 2 in June 2026. Following the release of a demo on the Nintendo eShop, graphics analysis channel ElAnalistaDeBits has published a detailed side-by-side comparison video examining how the Switch 2 version stacks up against PS5 and Xbox Series S versions.

The Switch 2 port runs at 30 frames per second with variable internal resolution in handheld mode, ranging from a maximum of 1344×756 down to a minimum of 672×380 pixels. Despite these technical constraints compared to other platforms, the port maintains a notable level of visual detail and texture quality that has impressed observers.

While the Switch 2 version does feature some graphical cutbacks and optimizations relative to its more powerful console counterparts, the comparison suggests the adaptation is remarkably ambitious in scope. The port represents the most demanding technical achievement in a Switch 2 title to date, demonstrating the hybrid system’s capabilities for handling AAA-scale games.

The analysis focuses on visual fidelity, performance stability, and how effectively Square Enix has balanced the game’s demanding graphics with the Switch 2’s hardware limitations. The June release continues Square Enix’s strategy of bringing major Final Fantasy titles to Nintendo’s platforms, expanding the RPG’s availability across a broader range of gaming systems and audiences.
