MindsEye Dev Reportedly Laid Off 170 Of 250 Employees
Build A Rocket Boy, the developer of the action game MindsEye, has reportedly laid off approximately 170 of its 250 employees in a recent round of redundancies. According to reports from Kotaku, the figure represents a substantial reduction that would leave the studio with roughly 80 remaining staff members if accurate.
The layoffs were announced by affected employees sharing news on LinkedIn and Discord. Multiple members of MindsEye’s community team were among those laid off, marking another wave of redundancies at the studio.
The timing of these cuts is particularly significant, coming just one week after the release of MindsEye’s DLC expansion “Blacklisted,” which received overwhelmingly negative reviews from both players and critics. This appears to be the second major round of layoffs at Build A Rocket Boy, suggesting the studio is facing serious challenges following the unsuccessful new content release.
