Two ‘Trails’ Games Are Getting Switch 2 Releases This Fall
The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure, two acclaimed action RPGs from Falcom, are coming to Switch 2 in Fall 2026. Publisher NIS America has confirmed that both games will receive enhanced ports featuring 4K resolution, 120fps gameplay, and Mouse Mode support—significant improvements over the current Switch versions, which experienced frame rate stuttering in some areas.
Players will have the option to purchase the games individually or as a bundle, with both physical and digital releases planned. However, NIS America has not yet clarified whether existing Switch 1 owners will receive upgrade pricing or paths to the Switch 2 versions.
While the games are already available on Switch, the enhanced performance and visual improvements position these as compelling rereleases for Switch 2’s more powerful hardware. The addition of Mouse Mode support suggests these ports have been developed with the Switch 2’s new controller features in mind. These releases mark continued platform support for the Trails series on Nintendo hardware, addressing one of the few criticisms of the original Switch versions.
