Feature: Pragmata Gets PS5 Pro Resolution Bump: Version 1.21 Comes With an Undocumented Upgrade

Pragmata has received patch version 1.21 for PS5 Pro, which improves the game’s visual fidelity through a significant internal resolution bump. The update increases the internal rendering resolution from 864p to 1080p—matching the base PS5’s native internal resolution.

Previously, while Pragmata offered the best console experience on PS5 Pro through the use of Sony’s PSSR upscaling technology (which scales the image to 4K), the lower 864p internal resolution created a notable visual compromise: ray-traced reflections appeared less sharp than on the base PS5, where a higher resolution was being used. Despite PSSR’s advanced upscaling capabilities compensating for much of the difference in overall image quality, this specific limitation was apparent upon closer inspection.

With the 1.21 update, this issue has been rectified. The game now renders at 1080p internally before being upscaled to 4K using PSSR, providing the upscaler with more source information to work with. This results in crisper reflections and an overall improvement in image quality while maintaining the performance benefits that make PS5 Pro the optimal way to play Pragmata on console.

The change was discovered through testing by content creators and represents an undocumented upgrade that enhances the technical presentation of the already acclaimed title.
