Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Could Take the Story Even Further with DLC
Square Enix director Naoki Hamaguchi has not ruled out the possibility of developing DLC content for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, according to recent remarks. The announcement suggests the publisher is considering extending the saga even beyond the scope of the three-part narrative structure already planned.
While Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s division across three games has already significantly expanded the original story’s scope, additional DLC could provide even more content to the series. Potential expansions have been speculated to take various forms, including an adaptation of the film Advent Children or a revival of the Dirge of Cerberus spin-off series.
However, some observers have expressed concern that the narrative is already being stretched substantially across the trilogy. Adding DLC on top of the already-extended story could further expand the content beyond what many consider reasonable for a single game’s narrative arc. Specifics about Part 3’s true scope and structure remain unknown, making it difficult to assess whether such DLC would constitute overkill or a reasonable expansion of the Final Fantasy 7 universe.
