Mobile dev Mindtail raises $2 million to build ‘AI-powered’ games
Istanbul-based mobile game studio Mindtail has secured $2 million in pre-seed funding to support its AI-native game development infrastructure. The funding round was led by APY Ventures, with participation from Inveo Ventures and Ak Portföy GSYF.
The studio plans to use the capital primarily to build out its AI-native production model, which represents a shift toward leveraging artificial intelligence throughout the game development process. Beyond infrastructure, Mindtail intends to significantly expand its team in the near term, with plans to triple headcount. The studio also confirmed it will announce its first game in the coming period.
Co-founder and CEO R. Tamer Özgen framed the funding as a validation of the team’s combined experience, stating the investment represents the moment when their collective expertise materializes. The emphasis on AI-native production suggests Mindtail is positioning itself at the intersection of game development and generative AI technologies, an increasingly crowded space as major publishers and independent studios explore new AI-powered development workflows and game features.
