Eggsterr to Retire from Pro Play after MIBR Match
Evan ‘Eggsterr’ Grady, a professional Valorant player renowned for his expertise with the Yoru agent, has announced his retirement from competitive play. The announcement came via his stream, where he stated he would be stepping away from professional competition after ENVY’s final VCT Americas Stage 1 match against MIBR.
Grady attributed his decision directly to recent nerfs to Yoru, which have significantly diminished the agent’s viability at the highest competitive level. As a Yoru specialist, these changes have rendered his main agent substantially less effective in professional play. Grady stated candidly on stream that he is unwilling to transition to other agents, saying the nerfs “got” him and that he’s “not trying to play other agents.”
Despite stepping back from professional competition, Grady plans to remain involved in the Valorant community through content creation. He acknowledged that his role as a content creator has sometimes been overshadowed by his competitive career, and he intends to refocus on that aspect of his work following his retirement from the pro scene. The retirement will conclude with ENVY’s upcoming match against MIBR.
