Preorders Are Live For Magic: The Gathering’s Reality Fracture Event

Magic: The Gathering’s highly anticipated Reality Fracture set will launch on October 2, 2026, with preorders now live. As the penultimate mainline set for 2026 before Star Trek releases in November, Reality Fracture represents the culmination of the in-universe storyline that has been building since Phyrexia: All Will Be One.

The set features a significant shift in the narrative, with longtime hero Jace Beleren taking on a more villainous role. Jace creates the Echoverse, an alternate reality that reimagines iconic characters, locations, and cards through new mechanics. Popular planeswalkers like Chandra will undergo dramatic transformations, with their magical colors inverted—for example, Chandra shifts from a red mage to a blue mage.

While specific story details remain under wraps, Wizards of the Coast has teased that the set will culminate in another major showdown among favorite planeswalkers. Reality Fracture appears designed to explore a “What If?” scenario, allowing players and fans to experience an alternate timeline where established characters take on new identities and roles within the MTG universe.
