Nvidia RTX 5050 review (Palit Dual edition)

Nvidia has released the RTX 5050, an entry-level graphics card reviewed by PC Gamer as a solid choice for budget-conscious PC gamers. The card offers reliable performance and better value than Intel’s B580, while typically coming in cheaper than AMD’s RX 9060 XT. It delivers adequate 1080p gaming performance and acceptable 1440p performance when using upscaling technologies like DLSS 4.

However, the review highlights significant limitations. The GB207 chip design shows little ambition, with minimal innovation compared to Nvidia’s previous generation entry-level offerings. The RTX 5050 is considerably weaker than the more expensive RTX 5060, which only costs marginally more, potentially making it poor value. The card is also slower than its predecessor, the RTX 4060, indicating minimal generational improvement.

PC Gamer concludes that while the RTX 5050 is serviceable for budget gamers looking for a reliable option, it lacks passion and innovation—merely adequate enough to warrant consideration rather than representing an exceptional value proposition for the price.
