Incredible New Mod Lets You Play Fallout in Fallout
Modder RPGKing117 has created a series of impressive mods that allow players to run classic games directly on Fallout 4’s in-game Pip-Boy device and computer terminals. The modder successfully implemented The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and the original Fallout into Fallout 4, leveraging the existing holotape game framework that Bethesda included in the base game.
The Morrowind mod is already publicly available on RPGKing117’s GitHub and Nexus pages, allowing players to experience the full Elder Scrolls experience within their Fallout 4 playthrough. Following the success of that project, the modder also developed a working version of Fallout 1 that runs on the Pip-Boy and terminals, adding another layer of gaming inception to the post-apocalyptic adventure.
While demonstrations of the Fallout 1 mod have been shared on YouTube, the mod has not yet received a public release. RPGKing117 reportedly chose to tackle the Fallout 1 project due to its high demand from the modding community, stating “This was so heavily requested, I couldn’t pass it up.”
This accomplishment showcases the Fallout 4 modding community’s creativity and technical skill, particularly in repurposing existing game systems to expand the game’s functionality. The ability to nest these classic titles within Fallout 4 highlights both the flexibility of the game engine and the dedication of modders who continue to find innovative ways to extend gameplay experiences.
