Prime Video Finds Its Sex Criminals: Imogen Poots and John Reynolds to Star in New Series
Prime Video has greenlit a live-action adaptation of the Image Comics series Sex Criminals, with the streaming platform announcing its lead cast. Imogen Poots (known for Vivarium) will play Suzie and John Reynolds (from Seekers of Infinite Love) will play Jon, a pair of lovers who discover an extraordinary ability: they can freeze time whenever they orgasm.
The characters exploit this unique power to commit bank robberies, forming the central premise of the series. The adaptation is based on the acclaimed comic created by writer Matt Fraction and artist Chip Zdarsky. The live-action series is being developed by Kumail Nanjiani, Emily V. Gordon, and Tze Chun, with Nanjiani also set to appear in the cast.
Prime Video has greenlit the project for an eight-episode first season, signaling confidence in bringing the irreverent comic book series to the streaming platform. This marks a notable expansion of the service’s comic book adaptation portfolio.
