Tatiana Maslany Says She-Hulk Would Need Writer Jessica Gao’s Involvement for a Proper MCU Return
Tatiana Maslany, star of the divisive Marvel Cinematic Universe series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, has stated that writer and creator Jessica Gao’s involvement would be essential for her character to make a proper return to the MCU.
The Disney+ series generated significantly split audience reactions upon its 2022 release. While critics gave it an 80% score on Rotten Tomatoes (with IGN rating it 8/10), the show received only 32% from audiences, highlighting a marked divide in public reception.
Despite the polarized response, Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum has suggested the show’s story may not be finished. He has characterized She-Hulk: Attorney at Law as one of Marvel’s better-performing series and indicated interest in potentially revisiting the property for future MCU content.
Marslany’s remarks emphasize the importance of maintaining creative consistency should the character appear again in the MCU. By specifically calling for Gao’s involvement in any future return, the actress appears to prioritize preserving the original creative vision over pursuing the role under different creative direction.
