The latest Crimson Desert update lets you mount iguanas, mountain goats, tigers, lions and other fantastic beasts

Crimson Desert patch 1.06 has rolled out across platforms, bringing a substantial content update from developer Pearl Abyss. The patch introduces several notable features that expand gameplay mechanics and content.

The most visible addition is a collection of tameable special mounts. Players can now subdue and ride a variety of creatures including bears, wolves, lions, tigers, mountain goats, boars, deer, raptors, camels, kuku birds, and iguanas. Taming mechanics require subduing animals and feeding them, with all special mounts accessible through a dedicated inventory tab.

Alongside the mounts, patch 1.06 introduces a claw machine mini-game located at the Laughing Marionette. The machine dispenses decorative rewards including lighting items, chairs, special headgear, Abyss Artifacts, and Abyss Gears, providing players with an alternative path to obtain cosmetic and equipment upgrades.

The patch also implements an Extraction feature for equipment refinement. This allows players to recover materials used during the upgrade process, with special materials like Artifacts and Aeserion’s scale refunded at 100% of the amount used, and common materials such as iron ore and copper ore refunded at approximately 70%. The feature is accessed through smithies throughout the game world.

The patch is currently available on PC and Mac via Steam and PlayStation 5, with ongoing rollouts to the Epic Games Store, Xbox, and Mac App Store.
