Team Heretics Reunite Nukeduck with Mithy as LEC Head Coach

Team Heretics has announced the signing of Erlend “Nukeduck” Våtevik Holm as head coach for its LEC team, pending approval from Riot Games. The Norwegian reunites with assistant coach Alfonso “Mithy” Aguirre Rodríguez, who also serves as Spain’s Esports Nations Cup coach for League of Legends.

The coaching staff changes follow assistant coach Emre “Arkhe” Akpınarlı’s reported departure from the organization. Heretics has indicated that further announcements regarding the team’s coaching structure will be made in the coming days.

The appointment raises questions about the future of current head coach Jonas “Hidon” Vraa, who remains under contract with the organization through the conclusion of League of Legends Worlds 2027. With Nukeduck’s arrival as head coach, Hidon’s role and position within the team’s structure remain unclear.

Nukeduck brings substantial experience to the position, having maintained one of the longest tenures in League of Legends esports. His return to professional coaching at the LEC level, alongside his reunion with Mithy, signals Heretics’ strategic direction for the competitive season ahead.

The signing is subject to final approval by Riot Games, which governs competitive League of Legends play and oversees organizational roster and staff changes.
