Keychron calls this ’the next gen mouse switch’ and I believe it: optical and magnetic all-in-one

Keychron has unveiled its upcoming MaOptic hybrid mouse switch, combining optical and magnetic technologies in a single peripheral component. The switch allows users to freely toggle between traditional Optical Mode and Linear Magnetic Mode through the Keychron Launcher web app, offering flexibility to gaming mice users.

The announcement comes shortly after Logitech’s launch of its G Pro X2 Superstrike with dedicated magnetic switches, suggesting a competitive push in gaming peripheral innovation. According to Keychron, the MaOptic switch delivers performance advantages including non-contact reliability, elimination of contact bounce, and a faster, cleaner trigger signal—features designed to appeal to competitive gamers and esports players.

The hybrid approach represents a significant advancement in mouse switch technology, enabling users to switch between click profiles depending on their gaming needs or preferences. The web-based configuration system suggests a software-driven approach to hardware customization, aligning with broader trends in gaming peripherals toward user-configurable experiences.
