“Our two franchises complement each other perfectly” - Alan Wake 2 invades Phasmophobia in a new three-week crossover event
Phasmophobia has announced its first-ever franchise crossover, with an Alan Wake-themed event launching May 12 and running for three weeks. The collaboration, titled “Phasmophobia by Alan Wake,” reimagines four of the ghost-hunting game’s maps with aesthetics and elements inspired by Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2.
The event features new character skins for the first time in Phasmophobia’s history, allowing players to inhabit the roles of Alan Wake himself and FBI agent Saga Anderson from Alan Wake 2. The four reimagined maps include Nell’s Diner, the Grafton and Bleasdale Farmhouses, and Camp Woodwind, each transformed to reflect the surreal, nightmarish atmosphere of the Alan Wake universe.
Beyond cosmetics, the event includes new community challenges designed to leverage both franchises’ complementary horror themes. The crossover was uniquely written by Sam Lake, creative director at Remedy Entertainment, highlighting the collaborative nature of the project. Developers from both studios have praised the partnership, describing it as “a match made in heaven,” emphasizing how the supernatural investigative gameplay of Phasmophobia aligns naturally with Alan Wake’s psychological horror and otherworldly storytelling.
This marks a significant expansion of Phasmophobia’s live-service content and sets a precedent for potential future crossovers with other franchises. The three-week duration creates a limited-time incentive for players to experience the event before it concludes.
