Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s Nintendo Switch 2 port is finally here and it holds up pretty well

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has officially launched on Nintendo Switch 2, representing a significant technical achievement for Bethesda Softworks’ porting efforts. The cinematic first-person adventure, originally released in December 2024 for Xbox and PC, has successfully transitioned to Nintendo’s hybrid console despite considerable technical challenges posed by its current-generation graphics and presentation design.

MachineGames’ adventure demonstrates impressive optimization work, with reviewers noting the game “holds up pretty well” on the new hardware. This marks a strong recovery for Bethesda’s Switch 2 porting track record—December’s Skyrim port launched with performance issues that required subsequent updates, while February’s Fallout 4 port was praised for ambitious framerate targets and solid image quality.

The original launch proved highly successful, accumulating over four million players and earning recognition as one of 2024’s best games. The Switch 2 port includes the base game alongside the DLC expansion “The Order of Giants.” Voice actor Troy Baker, who voices the iconic character, worked to authentically recreate the legendary opening sequence from Raiders of the Lost Ark, with the goal of making Harrison Ford proud.

The successful Switch 2 arrival underscores MachineGames’ technical competence while expanding the title’s reach beyond its original platforms. The port maintains the cinematic storytelling and brutal action that defined the original releases, establishing Indiana Jones’ video game legacy as an authentic adventure accessible to Nintendo’s audience.
