Hype Is Building for the First-Ever Five-Day Tokyo Game Show, But What New PS5 Games Will Be There?
Tokyo Game Show will undergo its largest expansion in history, becoming a five-day event for the first time. Held September 17-21, 2026 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, the event will retain its traditional structure of two business days (September 17-18) while adding a third public day on Monday, September 21st to capitalize on Japan’s public holiday.
The expanded schedule maintains public access on Saturday and Sunday (September 19-20) before concluding with the additional Monday session. Organizers CESA are describing the occasion as the “longest five days of non-stop play,” emphasizing the unprecedented scope of this year’s show. The third consumer day is expected to draw particularly large crowds due to the long weekend alignment, with organizers noting it will be notably crowded.
The announcement marks a significant milestone for one of the gaming industry’s most anticipated annual events, long considered essential for publishers, developers, and gaming enthusiasts to showcase and experience upcoming titles.
