Disney Sets an Avatar: Fire and Ash Streaming Release Date Before the Next Movie Is Confirmed
Avatar: Fire and Ash will arrive on Disney+ on June 24, as announced by Disney at its recent Upfront event in New York. The third installment in James Cameron’s Avatar franchise has been available for digital purchase for approximately a month since its theatrical release.
The film is available through multiple distribution channels: digital purchase at $20, a 4K Blu-ray edition launching May 19, and the upcoming Disney+ streaming release. For viewers with existing Disney+ subscriptions, the June 24 arrival will make Avatar: Fire and Ash available alongside the previous films in the franchise on the streaming platform.
Notably, despite the film’s commercial performance, the Avatar franchise has yet to receive official greenlight for a fourth movie. This development raises questions about the series’ future direction, particularly given the significant investment James Cameron has made in building out the cinematic universe since the original film’s 2009 debut.
