Forza Horizon 6 Progression Methods Detailed, Including A New ‘Horizon Play’ Feature
Playground Games has detailed the progression system for Forza Horizon 6, addressing community concerns about the campaign structure that arose following Forza Horizon 5. The studio has unveiled a three-part progression framework centered around Wristbands, Stamps, and a new feature called Horizon Play.
Wristbands return as a core progression mechanic, originally featured in the first Forza Horizon game. Players earn Wristbands by completing festival-based races and events at the Horizon Festival in Horizon Japan. As players accumulate Wristbands, they unlock invitations to new events and gain access to races featuring higher car class restrictions, creating a structured progression pathway through the game’s content.
The introduction of Stamps and the new Horizon Play feature represents expansions to the franchise’s traditional progression system. These additions appear designed to offer players multiple pathways for advancement and engagement beyond the traditional Wristband system.
This restructured progression approach addresses criticisms of Forza Horizon 5’s campaign pacing and structure. The festival-based event structure remains central to the experience, with the multi-layered progression system providing diverse avenues for players to engage with content. The changes suggest Playground Games is responding directly to player feedback regarding progression clarity and campaign engagement, with the revamped system offering clearer advancement objectives and event accessibility.
