Pokémon Champions Producer Teases Legendaries and Future Updates

The second season of Pokémon Champions is underway, and while the initial roster maintains the same Pokémon and items as the previous season, producer Masaaki Hoshino has confirmed significant content updates ahead. In interviews with Famitsu and GamerBraves, Hoshino revealed that new Pokémon will be added to the competitive battler, including the possibility of legendary Pokémon joining the roster.

The decision to keep Season M-2’s roster unchanged was intentional, designed to avoid overwhelming new players as they begin their competitive Pokémon journey. Hoshino expressed satisfaction with the influx of newcomers this approach has attracted. Looking forward, the development team plans a quarterly update schedule, introducing new Pokémon and items every three months.

This regular cadence of content updates suggests the developers are committed to evolving the competitive meta while maintaining their approachable onboarding strategy. With legendary Pokémon potentially on the horizon and a structured roadmap for seasonal additions, Pokémon Champions appears positioned to retain and grow its playerbase.
