Marvel Rivals has added a literal T. rex to the game alongside nerfing some Strategists and I don’t know what’s more surprising
Marvel Rivals Season 8 has officially begun, bringing fresh content and gameplay adjustments to the popular live-service game. The season’s most eye-catching addition is Devil Dinosaur, a literal T-rex character that joins the game’s roster. This prehistoric creature is equipped with an impressive arsenal of seven passive abilities, a shield mechanic, and a signature massive red laser beam attack—a fitting move for such a fearsome character.
Alongside the new dinosaur fighter, NetEase has implemented balance changes targeting the Strategist class, which apparently needed restraint. Five Strategist characters have been adjusted: Invisible Woman, Loki, Mantis, Rocket Raccoon, and White Fox. These heroes have had their offensive capabilities dialed back, though the developers characterize these as modest adjustments rather than sweeping nerfs.
The season also introduces a new battle pass for players to progress through and earn rewards. These regular seasonal updates and new character releases are typical of Marvel Rivals’ live-service model, keeping the game fresh for its player base.
