Feature: What Do You Want from a May 2026 State of Play Showcase?
Sony is expected to host a State of Play showcase within the coming weeks, continuing its tradition of hosting major gaming reveals in May or early June. These May State of Play events are historically among the most significant announcements of the gaming year, featuring substantial first-party reveals and serving as an important kickoff to the broader summer gaming season, which includes other major industry showcases like Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase.
PlayStation Studios is well-positioned to provide substantial content for the May 2026 State of Play. Among announced projects, Insomniac Games is expected to share additional gameplay and information for Marvel’s Wolverine, the upcoming superhero action title scheduled for a September 2026 launch. The May State of Play represents a key opportunity for Sony to showcase upcoming exclusive content ahead of the competitive summer announcement season.
