Turn-Based Mech RPG ‘Starbites’ Gets Last-Minute Delay On Switch 2

NIS America announced a last-minute delay for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of STARBITES, the turn-based mech RPG. The announcement came just eight days before the game’s planned launch, though the Switch 1 release remains on schedule for May 21, 2026.

The publisher provided no specific reason for the Switch 2 delay and did not announce a new release date, stating only that “more information will be shared when we are able to.” This leaves Switch 2 owners uncertain about when they’ll be able to play the game on the newer hardware.

The Switch 1 version will receive a full physical release as planned. Players on Switch 2 hoping to play the title will need to either wait for a new date or pick up the Switch 1 version and hope for a future upgrade path, which the publisher has indicated may still be available.

This delay is particularly notable given that STARBITES had already experienced platform changes during its development. The game was originally scheduled for a Game-Key Card release on Switch 2, but that plan was scrapped in March 2026, preceding this latest delay announcement.
