Talos Principle 3 Seemingly Skipping Xbox Release

Devolver Digital announced The Talos Principle 3, the “final chapter” of the long-running puzzle series. The game is scheduled to release on PC and PlayStation 5 in 2027.

The announcement does not include a release window or confirmation for Xbox platforms, which differs from the series’ previous entries. Both Talos Principle and Talos Principle 2 were available across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Talos Principle 2 was recently added to Xbox Game Pass in 2025. Fans have questioned the Xbox absence on social media, with some speculating about possible timed exclusivity arrangements, though Devolver Digital has not publicly commented on the matter.

The Talos Principle series combines first-person puzzle gameplay with philosophical narratives. The games feature spatial and logic-based puzzles often compared to Portal, set in strange, hyperrealistic environments populated by robotic entities. Developer Croteam explained the announcement by noting that stories, unlike reality, must have clear endings. After developing the series for over a decade, they are concluding the narrative with this third entry.

The absence of Xbox from the initial announcement continues a broader industry trend of platform-exclusive and platform-delayed releases, prompting ongoing discussion about release strategies and platform parity in gaming.
