Photos of Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming Controller Have Leaked Online Via Brazil

Microsoft’s previously unreported Xbox Cloud Gaming controller has surfaced online through leaked regulatory documentation and images from Brazil’s Anatel telecommunications authority. The controller, manufactured by Microsoft and currently undergoing regulatory testing, represents the company’s focused effort to optimize the cloud gaming experience.

The compact controller features a notably smaller form factor compared to the standard Xbox Series X/S controller, with a design comparable to third-party options from manufacturers like 8BitDo and HyperX. Despite its reduced size, it maintains the complete Xbox button layout, including a d-pad, face buttons, bumpers, triggers, start, select, share, pairing, and Xbox buttons.

Key technical specifications include a 500mAh rechargeable internal battery and dual connectivity options. The controller features Bluetooth 5.3 for wireless connectivity across 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. Most notably, it includes built-in Wi-Fi 6 connectivity that allows direct connection to Xbox Cloud Gaming servers—a significant technical advancement designed to substantially reduce latency compared to traditional multi-stage wireless connections. The device is powered by a Realtek RTL8730E processor and includes a USB-C charging port.

The controller will be available in both white and black colorways. While Microsoft has not officially confirmed the device, the technical specifications and regulatory documentation suggest the company is making a substantial investment in dedicated cloud gaming hardware to improve user experience and reduce input lag—a critical factor for cloud gaming viability.
