BBL and Turkey Esports Federation Abruptly Terminate Team Manager’s Contract

Turkish esports organization BBL Esports and the Turkish Esports Federation (TESFED) have announced the immediate termination of Mert Tanrıverdi’s contracts with both organizations. The announcements came in separate statements issued less than an hour apart on the same day.

Tanrıverdi had served as the Valorant Team Manager for BBL Esports and held the position of National Teams Manager with TESFED during the Esports Nations Cup 2026 process. However, neither organization provided any explanation for the sudden terminations.

TESFED issued the first statement, indicating only that Tanrıverdi’s duties “have been terminated as deemed necessary by our Federation,” without elaborating on the circumstances or reasons. BBL Esports followed with a similar statement approximately one hour later, also declining to specify why the contract was terminated.

The lack of transparency surrounding the decision has sparked questions within the esports community. Tanrıverdi has since deactivated his social media accounts, further adding to the mystery surrounding his departure.

The simultaneous nature of both organizations’ announcements suggests the decision may have been coordinated, though the precise reasons remain unclear.
