One Year Later, DOOM: The Dark Ages DLC Is Nowhere to Be Seen

One year has passed since the launch of DOOM: The Dark Ages on PS5, but the campaign DLC promised to Premium Edition purchasers remains unreleased and officially unrevealed by id Software.

The Premium Edition was sold at launch with multiple bonuses: 48 hours of early access, a cosmetic skin pack, a digital artbook, and a soundtrack. Buyers paid an additional £30 ($30 USD) specifically for these extras and the promised campaign expansion.

Despite 12 months passing since release, the campaign DLC—the primary attraction of the Premium Edition—has not launched and has yet to receive an official announcement regarding its development status or expected release date. This leaves those who purchased the premium version without the marquee content they paid extra for.

The situation is compounded by DOOM: The Dark Ages now being available at a substantial 67% discount in PlayStation Store promotions, reducing the standard edition to £32.99 ($34.99 USD). Premium Edition buyers who paid full launch price plus the £30/$30 DLC surcharge have seen the base game’s value depreciate significantly while their purchased content remains in limbo.

The lack of communication from id Software regarding the campaign expansion represents a notable failure to fulfill a core promise of the Premium Edition package.
