Fortnite’s Overwatch Butt-Buffing Conspiracy Theory Goes All The Way To The Very Bottom

The Overwatch gang has arrived in Fortnite as cosmetic skins, reigniting a decade-long debate about character proportions. Players have noticed that Tracer’s appearance in her Fortnite incarnation looks different from her original Overwatch design—specifically, her posterior appears noticeably more pronounced.

This observation has revived a contentious piece of gaming history. In Overwatch’s early days, approximately a decade ago, the gaming community criticized Tracer’s controversial over-the-shoulder victory pose, arguing it was overly sexualized. Blizzard responded by modifying the pose, removing what many considered problematic content. However, former Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan later stated that Tracer’s anatomy had “never been nerfed.”

The Fortnite crossover appears to contradict that claim. Players online are convinced the character model has been intentionally enhanced in the new skin. Whether the apparent differences result from intentional artistic choices, different rendering engines, or simply varied viewing angles remains unclear. Regardless, the crossover has successfully resurrected one of gaming’s most absurd and long-running controversies.
