Magic’s Garfield Secret Lair reprints a beloved $27 cat and dog Commander
Magic: The Gathering is welcoming Garfield through an upcoming Secret Lair Superdrop called “Cats Are the Best.” The collaboration will feature 15 Garfield-themed cards distributed across three different drops. The collection includes reprints of several staple cards highly sought after by players, including Sol Ring, Counterspell, and Swords to Plowshares.
The standout card from the Garfield Secret Lair collection is a creature card valued at approximately $32, which also ranks among the top 50 most-played Commander cards over the past two years. This card has generated particular interest among the Magic community due to its popularity and appeal of acquiring it with Garfield-themed artwork. The Secret Lair reprints offer players a chance to obtain these valuable and widely-used cards in unique collectible versions featuring the Garfield license.
Secret Lair is Magic’s special release format, allowing Wizards of the Coast to collaborate with outside entertainment properties and create limited-edition card variants. This Garfield partnership demonstrates the continued crossover appeal between Magic and recognizable franchises, expanding the game’s reach beyond traditional fantasy themes.
