Nexon Q1 net income rises 118% to $360.7m
Nexon achieved record first-quarter financial results, reporting net income of $360.7 million—a 118% increase year-over-year. The company’s strong performance was primarily driven by the continued success of two major titles: Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders and the long-running MapleStory franchise.
Arc Raiders demonstrated particularly impressive growth during the quarter, with 4.6 million additional units sold, bringing cumulative sales to 16 million. The game has built a notably engaged player base, with over half of active players investing more than 100 hours in-game and collectively accumulating 1.5 billion total hours played.
Nexon’s overall financial metrics reflected robust growth across its portfolio. The company reported revenue of ¥152.2 billion ($959.9 million), representing a 34% year-over-year increase, while operating income reached ¥58.2 billion ($367 million), up 40%. The results included a significant ¥14.5 billion ($91.4 million) foreign exchange gain, which contributed meaningfully to the net income figure.
