After a bit of a false start The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is absolutely, definitely getting a digital home release next week
Universal has officially confirmed that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will be available for digital download beginning Tuesday, May 19th, following earlier false reports about an imminent home release. The film will be released in 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray formats, each containing over an hour of special features.
The special features package includes a making-of documentary produced in collaboration with Nintendo and Illumination, offering behind-the-scenes insights into the film’s production. The documentary features contributions from the film’s voice cast, including Chris Pratt (Mario), Anya Taylor-Joy (Peach), Charlie Day (Luigi), Jack Black (Bowser), Brie Larson (Rosalina), and Keegan-Michael Key.
The digital release announcement comes after confusion in the market surrounding the timing of the home release window. The physical media release on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray will be available alongside the digital download option.
