Asus Enters the RAM Market with “ROG Mode” 48GB DDR5-6000 CL26 Kit
Asus has entered the consumer RAM market with its first branded memory kit, unveiled at an event in China. The kit is marketed under the “ROG Edition 20” branding to commemorate Asus’s ROG (Republic of Gamers) division’s 20th anniversary.
The initial offering is a 48GB dual-channel DDR5 kit featuring SK Hynix M-Die chips rated for DDR5-6000 speeds with CL26 latency, priced at approximately $880 USD or £660 GBP (5999 CNY).
A standout feature is “ROG Mode,” exclusive to compatible Asus ROG Crosshair, Maximus, and Strix motherboards. This proprietary feature allows users to choose between two operational profiles: an aggressive configuration running DDR5-6000 with 26-36-36-76 timings, or a higher-bandwidth mode delivering DDR5-8000 speeds with 36-48-48-110 timings. The kit also supports industry-standard Intel XMP and AMD EXPO profiles for broader compatibility.
The memory modules include full RGB lighting synchronized through Asus’s Aura Sync ecosystem. As a special edition for the ROG 20th anniversary, the kit features distinctive cosmetic elements including gold, silver, black, and red metal accents.
This marks Asus’s first venture into branded consumer memory products, expanding its ecosystem of gaming-focused hardware components beyond motherboards and graphics cards.
