Lego racing game 2K Drive will be delisted next week, but online multiplayer won’t shut down until next year
Lego 2K Drive, the open-world kart racer developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Games, will be delisted from digital storefronts beginning May 19, 2026. The game, which launched three years ago and featured the unique ability to build custom vehicles within an open-world racing experience, is being removed from sale.
However, the delisting does not mean immediate server shutdown. Players who already own the game or purchase it before the May 19 cutoff will retain access to online multiplayer features until May 31, 2027. After that date, all online server functionality will cease, rendering multiplayer and other network-dependent features unavailable.
This move reflects a broader pattern in the gaming industry where live-service and online-dependent games face eventual sunset periods. While the extended grace period provides existing players with over a year to continue enjoying the multiplayer experience, it highlights ongoing concerns about game preservation and digital ownership in an era dominated by online connectivity requirements.
