Demigod review (2009)
Demigod is an action-focused competitive game featuring eight distinct monstrous, magical demigods competing for supremacy. The game opens with a bombastic introductory cutscene narrated in the style of legendary actor Christopher Lee, establishing minimal narrative context: one of the gods has been destroyed after leaking company secrets, and players assume the role of demigods vying for promotion to fill the vacant position of “Total god.”
Rather than emphasizing traditional single-player campaign progression, Demigod prioritizes competitive gameplay through individual skirmishes and larger tournament modes. Players can compete against both AI-controlled opponents and human adversaries, with various demigods offering distinct capabilities and playstyles. The game’s design separates demigods by their unique characteristics, providing different gameplay experiences across the roster.
