Ghost of Yotei Legends Received Its Final Major Update in April, Dev Confirms
Sucker Punch Productions has announced that Ghost of Yotei Legends, the free multiplayer co-op mode for its PS5-exclusive sequel, will not receive any additional major updates following April’s Raid update. Lead Designer Darren Bridges confirmed the news via PlayStation Blog, stating that “The Raid update was our last major planned update for Legends. It finishes the story of the Yotei Six in that mode.”
The Legends mode launched on March 10, 2026, and the Raid update went live on April 10, meaning the mode received only one major content update across its two-month existence. The update concluded the narrative arc for the game’s characters, the Yotei Six. Despite ending its content roadmap, Sucker Punch confirmed that Legends will remain online and fully playable for anyone wishing to continue enjoying the co-op experience.
Bridges expressed appreciation for player engagement, saying “We’ve loved to see players playing it, continue to play it and enjoy it. It’s been great.” The mode had been well-received, with reviewers describing it as “fantastic,” but the early conclusion of support has left some fans disappointed.
The quick end to the live-service support—only two months after launch—has generated mixed reactions from the community. Some players expressed frustration at the abbreviated content roadmap, feeling the mode received insufficient long-term support. However, Sucker Punch’s decision to keep the servers live ensures that players can continue accessing the full Legends experience, including all raid content and the completed Yotei Six storyline.
