My Hero Academia spin-off anime short about Eri is coming sooner than you’d think
“I am a hero too,” a tenth-anniversary anime short spin-off of My Hero Academia, will debut at Anime Expo 2026 this summer. The short will be screened for the first time at the convention held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 2-5, 2026, though the specific premiere date and time have not yet been announced.
Following its U.S. debut at Anime Expo, the short will receive theatrical screenings in Japan on August 1 and 2 as part of special “Character Matchup” series presentations of popular My Hero Academia episodes. These screenings will showcase the spin-off alongside fan-favorite episodes from the main series.
After the Japanese theatrical run, the anime short will be made available on streaming platforms approximately one month later, bringing the special to international audiences. The exact streaming platforms have not yet been announced.
The announcement comes from the official My Hero Academia website and represents part of the franchise’s tenth-anniversary celebrations. This spin-off focuses on Eri, a beloved character from the main series, continuing the My Hero Academia universe.
