Mailbox: Tomodachi Teachings, ‘Mainline’ Mario, The Artist Formerly Known As Waluigi - Nintendo Life Letters
Nintendo Life’s monthly Mailbox feature returns with a curated selection of reader submissions discussing various Nintendo topics. The column highlights a monthly ‘Star Letter,’ with the author receiving a complimentary month of Nintendo Life’s ad-free Supporter subscription.
This May 2026 edition features the Star Letter ‘Very inspirational,’ in which a reader praises the Nintendo Switch title Tomodachi Life for its portrayal of aspirational living through Miis. The correspondent describes fascination with how the game compresses life’s major milestones into rapid-fire sequences—depicting characters navigating emotional peaks and valleys, from romantic breakups to meaningful social connections. The reader appears drawn to the game’s optimistic framing of life’s journey, with characters perpetually experiencing new chapters and personal growth.
The mailbox feature, which invites readers to share gaming observations and perspectives monthly, serves as a community engagement platform where Nintendo enthusiasts can have their voices highlighted. The feature’s full May edition covers additional topics referenced in the title, including perspectives on Mario mainline games and Waluigi-related commentary, though only the opening excerpt is available.
