Port specialist Virtuos says it wants to bring GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 to Switch

Port specialist Virtuos has expressed its desire to bring two of Rockstar Games’ biggest titles to Nintendo Switch. In an interview with Pocket Tactics, Virtuos technical director Andy Fong stated that the team is “eager to adapt Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 for the Nintendo Switch” and believes these games “can shine again” on the hybrid platform.

Virtuos, a Singapore-headquartered studio with offices worldwide, has built a strong reputation as a leading developer of high-quality remasters and ports in recent years. The studio previously demonstrated its technical expertise with the critically acclaimed Switch port of LA Noire, showcasing its ability to translate complex, demanding AAA games to Nintendo’s hardware with impressive results.

Fong’s comments represent a statement of interest rather than an official announcement of development. Rockstar Games has not publicly confirmed any involvement in such ports. However, the remarks highlight Virtuos’s ambitions for bringing marquee AAA titles to the Switch platform, continuing the broader industry trend of major games receiving ports to Nintendo’s hybrid console.
