Acemagic Retro X5 review
The Acemagic Retro X5 is a small form factor PC that combines classic Nintendo-inspired styling with contemporary gaming performance. PC Gamer gave the device strong marks for exceptional performance-to-size ratio, recommending it as an outstanding addition to gaming setups when available at reasonable pricing.
The system impresses with its compact internal design and generous memory specifications, delivering strong performance despite its diminutive footprint. The device appeals to those seeking both retro aesthetic appeal and modern computing power. However, some practical concerns temper the overall package: the cooling system produces notably loud fan noise, and launch configurations offer only 1TB of SSD storage, potentially requiring upgrades for larger game libraries.
Another uncertainty involves pricing longevity. PC Gamer notes it’s unclear whether current promotional pricing will persist or if costs will increase going forward, which could affect the long-term value proposition. For buyers who prioritize nostalgic design alongside gaming capability and don’t mind compact form factors, the Retro X5 represents a compelling option, provided it remains in stock and maintains favorable pricing.
