Adventure Time: Side Quests to debut on Disney Plus this June
Cartoon Network Studios announced that Adventure Time: Side Quests will premiere on Disney Plus and Hulu on June 29, reuniting the original animated series’ protagonists Finn the Human and Jake the Dog. The new series serves as a companion to the original Adventure Time, which aired on Cartoon Network for eight years beginning in 2010. The announcement arrives following the critical success of other Adventure Time spinoffs, most notably Fionna and Cake.
The series is produced by Cartoon Network Studios with Nate Cash, known for his work on SpongeBob SquarePants, heading production. The creative team includes story editor Darrick Bachman (Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends), directors Victor Courtright and Niki Yang, art director Nick Cross, and composer Matthew Janszen. The return of the franchise to streaming continues the trend of established animated properties being revived for major streaming platforms.
