Don’t Worry, PS5 RPG Dawnwalker’s Got a Range of Difficulty Options Despite Its Hardcore Design
The Blood of Dawnwalker, the upcoming PS5 RPG from developer Rebel Wolves, is being positioned as a challenging, narrative-driven experience with meaningful choices and consequences within a time-sensitive structure. Studio founder Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has confirmed that despite its hardcore design philosophy and demanding combat encounters, the game will feature multiple difficulty settings to accommodate players of varying skill levels and preferences.
According to Game Informer, the game will offer four distinct difficulty modes: Story, Normal, Duelist, and Nightmare. These options are designed to be largely self-explanatory, with each tier adjusting the game’s challenge level accordingly. Beyond these four main settings, Tomaszkiewicz indicated that additional customizable difficulty sliders will be available, allowing players to fine-tune their experience even further by adjusting specific aspects of the game independently.
This design approach allows Rebel Wolves to maintain their vision of a hardcore RPG with substantial stakes and difficult combat while remaining accessible to a broader audience. Players who want to focus on the story and roleplay elements can lower the difficulty, while those seeking a more punishing experience can crank up the challenge to Nightmare or adjust individual settings to maximize difficulty in specific areas.
