Gravity Rush 2 Fans Find a Way to Play Sony’s Neglected PS4 Classic at 4K, 60fps

A fork of the ShadPS4 emulator created by developer Junmin Lee enables Gravity Rush 2, the PlayStation 4 exclusive, to run at 4K resolution with up to 60 frames per second on PC. The enhancement brings new life to the Japan Studio title, which has been largely neglected since its original release.

To use the emulator, players must possess an original physical copy of the game, which they then dump themselves before installing the fork from GitHub. While some technical knowledge is required to set up the emulator properly, community support is available through a dedicated Discord server.

The emulator performs remarkably well on portable PC gaming devices, including the Steam Deck and ROG Ally X, effectively bringing the PlayStation Vita-style adventure experience to handheld form factors. This development represents a significant effort by the fan community to preserve and enhance access to a critically acclaimed but commercially overlooked title.

The project highlights the ongoing role of emulation in game preservation, allowing players to experience classic titles with enhanced performance and visual fidelity beyond what was possible on original hardware.
