Namco’s Caught The Suika Game Fever In This Upcoming Puzzler
Riding the wave of Suika Game’s massive popularity, Bandai Namco and developer BeXide have announced Namco Legendary Mountains, a new puzzle game that adapts the viral matching mechanic to feature Namco’s iconic characters.
Suika Game, which launched in 2021, became a global phenomenon through its simple yet addictive gameplay: combine matching pieces of fruit to create progressively larger fruits. The game’s success has spawned numerous clones and inspired many indie developers.
Namco Legendary Mountains applies this proven formula with a twist. Players will land two matching Namco characters—including Pac-Man and Dig Dug—next to each other to transform them into larger objects. The game’s unique feature is its 3D puzzle environment presented as a rotatable “dish,” allowing players to view and manipulate the puzzle from different angles for strategic advantage.
The game is confirmed for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, bringing Namco’s franchise-infused spin on the puzzle gaming phenomenon to Nintendo’s platforms.
