Street Fighter 6’s Next Update Is Adding New Game Modes

Street Fighter 6 is receiving a significant content update on May 28, 2026, introducing two new game modes—Avatar Random Match and Avatar Arcade Mode—alongside the paid DLC character Ingrid. These modes expand the game’s existing avatar customization system, which allows players to mix and match special moves to create personalized fighting styles.

Avatar Random Match provides a competitive environment where players can deploy their custom avatars, earn rewards, and gain experience to level up their fighters. Avatar Arcade Mode takes a different approach, focusing on character progression and relationship-building. Players can repeatedly fight against various masters to strengthen bonds and unlock cosmetic rewards, including Outfit 2 for each master—offering an alternative progression path beyond traditional ranked systems.

The update represents Capcom’s continued commitment to supporting Street Fighter 6 with regular content that appeals to both competitive and casual players. By combining free game modes with premium DLC character releases, the publisher maintains player engagement while providing monetization opportunities. The simultaneous release ensures existing players have fresh objectives to pursue while attracting new audiences interested in the paid content.

These new modes will be available across all Street Fighter 6 platforms when the update launches on May 28, 2026.
