How to build a Metal Farm in Subnautica 2

In Subnautica 2, the Metal Farm is one of the most critical structures players can construct, functioning as a resource duplicator for rare metals like Troilite and Mangalloy ingots. This facility is essential for preventing a potential softlock that occurs when players deplete their finite resources too quickly during progression.

The Metal Farm becomes particularly vital at late-game stages, especially when repairing the Alien Power Plant, which requires large quantities of Troilite that are scarce across the map. By establishing a Metal Farm early, players ensure they have adequate materials to progress without becoming resource-locked.

To unlock the Metal Farm blueprint, players must locate and scan three functional Metal Farms found in the same location: a glowing green pool area approximately 870 meters northeast of the Alien Ruins Research Base, bearing around 75 degrees. Access requires reaching the Alien Ruins area via the Tadpole Pens and equipping the Tadpole Depth module for submarine travel.

Players should enable all landmark signals in their character menu before setting out to make these locations easier to spot. Once the blueprint is scanned and unlocked, the Metal Farm can be constructed and deployed, allowing players to systematically duplicate rare metals and maintain a steady supply of critical resources throughout their playthrough.
