Terraria Marks 15 Years and 70 Million Players With a Promise to Continue Updates Beyond 1.4.6 and Crossplay Patch

Terraria, the beloved sandbox action-adventure game, has reached a significant milestone on its 15th anniversary, achieving 70 million sales across all platforms. Developer Re-Logic announced the achievement on Steam, breaking down the impressive numbers: 39.6 million sales on PC, 10.7 million on console, and 19.7 million on mobile platforms. The game maintains an active player base, averaging around 500,000 daily players with peaks reaching 1.4 million concurrent users.

Looking ahead, Re-Logic has assured fans that development will continue beyond the upcoming 1.4.6 update and crossplay patch. The studio promised to share “other plans and ideas” for the game’s future when appropriate, indicating long-term commitment to the title despite reaching this mature stage in its lifecycle. This commitment reflects Terraria’s status as a live-service title that has successfully maintained player engagement for over a decade and a half.

To commemorate the milestone, Terraria will receive a 15th anniversary collector’s edition, though specific details about its contents have not yet been revealed by Re-Logic.
