G2 Esports Partner With McDonald’s For G2 Hel and G2 NORD LoL Teams

G2 Esports has announced a significant partnership with McDonald’s Germany to support its tier-2 League of Legends teams. The sponsorship will serve as the presenting partnership for both G2 NORD—the organization’s academy team and Prime League Winter runners-up—and G2 Hel, the organization’s women’s competitive team and former Game Changers finalists.

Under this partnership, McDonald’s will provide substantial support for content production, including a year-long documentary-style series following G2 NORD behind the scenes. The content will be created in collaboration with German content creator Niklot ‘Tolkin’ Stüber, aiming to bring fans closer to the team’s daily operations and competitive journey.

Notably, G2 Esports has indicated that this partnership was instrumental in enabling the organization to resurrect the G2 Hel roster. The women’s team had previously competed as Game Changers finalists, and this sponsorship has made it possible for G2 to reestablish the program with a new lineup.

The partnership represents a notable moment for esports sponsorship diversification, with a global fast-food brand investing in grassroots competitive League of Legends outside of the top-tier LEC (League of Legends European Championship). By supporting both the academy system and women’s competitive scene, the deal highlights growing recognition of these segments within professional esports.
